She's already posted the serial number and someone found that she's got a model 66.

Lately I have found that many of the new metal bobbins both for my 401 and my 15-91 DO NOT FIT or operate properly in the machine. Only the old ones work. Lots of the new ones especially the 401 bobbins just build up birdnests, and I do know which way to insert the bobbin, the 15 91 bobbins are so poorly machined you can see the little slot is not straight, and that little slot is what makes it fit downon the bobbin winder post.:)

"Are you sure the bobbin is in right? Mine had a nick in it and the thread wouldnt catch. Is it a drop in bobbin or in a case? sometimes the nick is so small it's hard to see on a dropin".

The ladys at my Brother shop told me that the metal bobbins can become magnitized as you sew fast. She said to only use the plastic ones to stop that. After changing to the plastic bobbins I dont have that problem any more.

I have a 66 model too and the bobbin had the very tip broken off after having the needle jam on fabric that was too thick. Can you take the bobbin case out and check it?"

P.S. If the tip is broken it can't catch the thread to make the stitch.

I bought class 66 bobbins from WM and from Joann. They do not work. The class 66 bobbins I bought from sewclassic work just fine. My sister and I got a price break when we ordered 100.

I'll try the ones I got from Walmart today. I kept the receipt with them 'just in case.' Hopefully I won't need to take them back.
