You might need to sign in at The Quilt Show to see this (and I can't find the image anywhere else), but here is my all time favorite quilt using Storm at Sea blocks:

    Just freaking brilliant!!!!

Thank you MTS! I do like the scrappy version, and I'm NOT a scrappy person. Now you are taking me out of my box. I planned to get the ruler from Creative Grids called Storm at Sea.

Hi BK. I just noticed, I think Color 3 is missing from the bottom of each block. I'm guessing that would affect the fabric calculation. Do you mind redoing it? Thanks bunches!

That one at TheQuiltShow is gorgeous. A quilting buddy of mine made a SAS that was VanGogh's Starry Night. She called it Stormy Night.

I know it made it into a quilt show outside of Atlanta this next weekend and I think she is going to try to get it into some others....so you might just get to see it!

I've only seen pics and it is Gorgeous too!

SAS is on my quilting bucket list!

I just thought the way she went about it - taking a multi-patched block, on point, and ignoring the block but coloring the patches was genius.

I smile every time I see it.

I'm looking for a different block so I can try that.

I'm actually trying to get to the Atlanta show this weekend - schedule permitting.
If not, I'm sure I'll find a picture online.
    Thanks for the heads up!

Would you consider a smaller block? At 3 blocks by 4 blocks the rolling waves will not be very apparent.

16" finished is the size the Creative Grid ruler makes. I could go 4 x 5. You know how quilters are, flexible!
