I got Someone in the community passed away & her family donated her quilting stuff to our guild. No one wanted some pieced SB blocks (22) 10 1/2 inch- she had stitched 6 together. I took them apart & put sashing between them.
What a difference it made. They were from the original 30s prints. Everyone in the guild wanted the top when I finished, but my daughter is getting it when the longarm quilter finishes with it. I had not seen a pieced pattern before.

This is a beautiful quilt. Did these blocks come from a book?? Would love to have the patterns.

Absolutely love your quilt. It is just wonderful. One of the nicest ones I have seen. Kudos on everything about it.

Sue was around long before Holly. I am sure your efforts will be well worth it when finished

I love the umbrella lady. Have been looking for a pattern I like. Could you please let me know where you found yours?

I ran across this pattern just this week. I think it is the same version of SBS.

Here's the Wikipedia article on Holly Hobbie. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holly_Hobbie I was surprised to learn she is a real person as well as a character. Sun Bonnet Sue has been around a lot longer. http://www.sunbonnetsue.com/suehistory.html
