I'm kind of glad I happened across this thread. I didn't realize there were so many Viking owners, and good words they had to say. I bought a Viking 20-25 years ago, because my Singer wore out, something about the plastic in it. I asked the guy if he had anything that was metal, and IO ended up with a Viking. Glad to see so many 'good machines' posted

Two Vikings in my life. One from the 80's, currently on long term loan to DD. Newer one is Lily, she's about 15 yrs. old. Never a moment's trouble with either one. I still use the old one over at DD house, and am always happy to get her singing again. No problems with threading.
Also a Bernina embroidery and serger. Prefer the Vikings. And too many other machines to list. Need to use them more often.
You will get many years of happy use out of this new baby. Enjoy!

My Viking didn't come with a pretty first name, like Emily. Just Husqvarna, what kind of a first name is that? Sounds like a chain saw or a lawn tractor

Vikings are sweet machines, don't be afraid to use it. She'll be very happy that someone is sewing again.
