Default Template or strip piecing?

I am currently working on a modified Broken Star that has a mariner compass in the center. Currently I am using the templates provided for the pattern for the center blocks. However once I get to the traditional "lone star" blocks I know I can easily strip piece them. I want to be very consistent for the entirety of the quilt and I've become very comfortable with the template cutting. On the flip side I've never constructed a star before let alone one through strip piecing and I don't know if my accuracy will be as good that way.

If you were in my situation would you just do template throughout the whole quilt or switch to strip piecing for the part you can?

I should mention I care a lot more about accuracy and the final product than being fast...although being both wouldn't be bad.

Thanks,
Yael

If I could, I would PP the center. I recently did a wall hanging all paper pieced - and I was very satisfied with the results.

Tough question. Myself, since I'm not particularly a template fan, I would probably strip piece the sections I could. Do you have some scrap fabric to work out the strip piecing and match up to the template section? That's probably the route I would try. Would love to see the pattern, by the way. It sounds lovely.

I've done something similar and did paper piecing on it. It went very fast and was perfect and looked excellent. I didn't have to rip anything out or have any problems whatsoever!
