What is the best book for learning how to make this pattern? Are there any tutorials for this?

Eleanor Burns (the queen of shortcuts and strip piecing) has written a new book on making lone star quilts called Radiant Star Quilts - it'll be out in January, but you can pre-order it now:

I want to make one of these quilts, but I've been waiting until it's "easy."

I love her pattern for the Lone star and made several, here is one of my latest.
I have to say, my first Lone Star was made a couple of weeks after my mom found out she had cancer. (18 mo. to live)
she had several quilts she wanted my sister and I to make before she passed away. So, I can say you can make the center of this quilt in a day, if you have everything cut and sewn into strips.
I made a queen size from start to finish in a week. Most of it with her standing over me, hurrying me along. She lived 18 months and we made probably 15 quilts in that time. Love you MOM! Thanks for the memories.
