I've read - with envy - many posts about scoring a bargain at garage sales or Goodwill. My ship came in last week. I saw a case with latch keys attached with a ribbon that looked promising and when I opened it I saw a Bernina 530! The price: $3.99. With my 55+ discount it was $3.49! It included the extension table, knee control, original manual, accessory case with 11 feet, screwdrivers, wing needle, twin needles, darning hoop and brush for cleaning. I cleaned it up and oiled it and it runs like a charm. So keep scouring those bargain sites, your treasure awaits you!

Happy dance for you!! Our Goodwill is becoming completely outrageous on pricing and I doubt you could buy a used pair of underpants for $3.50!! It is not uncommon to find things brand new from WalMart for less than the same at Goodwill :(

Wow what a little beauty! The feet alone for my Bernina are about $50 each. What a great find!

Wow! I was just telling William that the one vintage machine brand that I've never seen "in the wild" was Bernina! Guess folks just don't give them up easily! Congrats!

I am from probably the poorest county in So. Jersey, and it is less expensive to shop at Walmart than at our local Goodwill...the problem is mainly that they've found that they get better prices on their shopgoodwill.com site...oh well, I still go just in case...lol...Naomi

She's a real beauty. Can't beat the $3.49 price, either. Great find.
