So the tension has something to do with winding the bobbin? I'm thinking maybe only on some machines????

The FMQ looks great! Well, in the end you have a completed project and it is gorgeous!

I never noticed it on my regular singer machine. I have a Babylock Esante ese2 - and when I didn't put the tension back to "automatic" it balled up in a huge knot - did it twice....put the tension on "automatic" and I got a perfect bobbin.

You may be right - it may only be on some machines...maybe those with electronic/computerized adjustments???

Thanks - the photo's don't show the front very well but I love the way it came out on the peach and turquoise on the back...I used a turquoise thread on front and back and it really worked - I thought it would be too busy on the front - but it blends so you can feel it and see it up close but it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb!

I have fun doing the FMQ....

***Tip: Cover your hair with a shower cap and put googles on before spray basting. This protects your hair and your eyebrows from the mist. Googles are cheap and could be found for less that five dollars at the home depot.

Thanks for sharing.

Yep. And if you are up reading the board at 3 AM you will have nothing new to read with coffee in the morning!

Note to all.....unless you are TRULY a night owl, don't ever cut fabric in the middle of the night. Cost me a fortune once, since I was cutting strips for strip piecing; each color had its own width but I couldn't do...3.5...7...10.5...14 in my head so I cut them all different widths.
