I actually used them this evening to hem a pair of pants, turned out one slipped off onto the back of my robe so when I sat down something pierced the back of my thigh!!! OUCH!!!

So when I am not being my own voodoo doll, I normally use them to pin things evenly so I can do my 1/4 seam

I use them when I am loading a quilt, backing, etc., onto the HandiQuilter frame. I wish I had the HandiQuilter Avante 18, but I just use my Janome.

However, I love the yellow flowerhead pins! They have a nice slim shaft and are barely noticable when in fabric.

I use them all the time. Actually I have some smaller ones too but never tried them.

That's the only thing I use them for now - pinning the flaps when I wrap fabrics on foam core. I use the flat flower pins and silk pins for piecing.

I use them for a lot of pinning from matching points to holding binding. Have done so for years but I'm a pinner sewer. :) :)

[quote=Quilter7x]This is how I use those yellow quilters pins. Rather than having the pin hang out of the edge, I put them alongside where the stitching line will go. Then I don't have to worry about running over them with the sewing machine and because they're long pins, they cover a good size area.[/qu

I have a mix of pins. On another note, I haven't been here very long and I'm wondering if Quilter7x has the pattern for this awesome pin cushion? And will you tell
us how to get it?

I watched the Pinmoor video. I think that would be the way to go. The little bent safety pins for me are a pain.

I used to use the Yellow ball ones and then found the flat headed yellow ones and use them for everything. The Yellow ball ones now are pretty much just used for hanging things on the wall or design wall or when squaring something up. The yellow flat headed ones are great for PaperPiecing, when using rulers and ect. For my long arm I use the Pearl headed big florist pins. They are stronger the the flat head and hold nicely.

mine are used when i load a quilt on the frame (attaching quilt to leaders) to quilt. i could not function without my long quilters pins i use between 200 & 300 of them at a time loading a quilt. i thought that's what they are for, i've been using them for this for years now

So what are we supposed to be using them for, does anyone know? I use them now to hold fabric to the back of my little fabric bolts.

I only use them if I can't find my Clover glass head pins.
