Hey everyone!! I have been thinking and talking with my other pals "new quilters and experienced quilters" and have decided that I love sewing so much because it is something that no one quilter is content with as far as there current skills!! We are always trying to better our craft, try new techniqes and listen to any advice that might help us along the way. With that said, what is it that you would like to do better or learn? " a short term goal maybe" for me I would love to master my traveling stitches while I free motion! Can't wait to hear what you all say!! Thanks happy stitching!!

Hello.. I just used Elmer's glue to baste a quilt for the first time. It worked wonderfully, but I am wondering if there is a way to apply it more evenly.. mine was sort of clumpy in spots. I would also love to tackle FMQ. The shop where I purchased my machine from said that it is capable of FMQ and that she has seen some people's FMQ that is just beautiful. I have practiced but always chicken out when it comes to a "real quilt" I don't want to mess up my project (I have quilted a quilt and ended up hating it - it ruined the whole quilt for me)

Wow that is interesting!! Do u have to let it dry a while before quilting it?
and yes I totally understand your hesitation!! But just remember its not the end of the world if u mess up! The good thing about quilting is that we make mistakes all the time and it's ok! If u are worries about it you can always rip the thread out and start over. And by the time you get thru a couple quilts you will have confidence and confidence goes a long way! But embrace the imperfections!! I bet u would do great!!

I would love to master a bargello quilt. The technique doesn't bother me as much as getting the colors right. I have quite a bit of batiks just waiting, but I need more lights.

My first FMQ project was a patchwork jacket with all kinds of prints in it. There are lots of goofs, but nobody can find them because of the prints. My second one was another patchwork jacket for my DGD. There are fewer goofs but there still are some and they're very difficult to see, again because of the prints.

I goal one day is to create a "perfect" quilt. I have done some great quilts, but there is usually something that could have turned out better. I probably will have better luck spotting a unicorn than making a perfect quilt.

I am a "novice" quilter learning how to longarm. That is my goal, perfect my longarming abilities and FMQ abilities while I am at it.. I just want more time to be able to quilt.. Work seems to interfer with my time. Ohhh I also want to not fear applique.. Haven't done it yet but I am apprehensive..
