If it were mine, I'd put a dark narrow border (like 1 1/2"), then go the opposite direction for a final border, maybe the "right" shade of yellow/gold. For my quilts, I need a place for the eye to rest.

What purpose would a border serve? A border would interfere with the modern look of this quilt. It's very modern... You did a great job! Just quilt and bind it.

My great-grandmother made one out of clothing fabric leftovers and did not add a border. It looks good without a border. Yours is lovely with the way you arranged the colors.

I think borders add a finishing touch, like a picture frame, but I cannot imagine what border I would use on this. You don't want to detract from the image you have created. It is beautiful.

I would have thought that more pyramids would be to "busy" and distract from the primary focus of the quilt but this example really shows off the beautiful colors of the quilt center.
