Good idea to separate the numerous threads for a smocking machine. I bought a plastic compartment tray for this purpose but haven't tried it yet.

Great idea! I use these same boxes every day for quilting needs. One has safty pins, one has to go things when I'm traveling. Your idea is great, guess I'll be going to Walmart for more. Thank you for the idea.

Such a good idea. I always have a spool of thread sitting around here and there for whatever hand work I am doing and always have to hunt for it when I go to sew. This would keep it all together.

You should market your idea. You could be one of the next best inventors for the quilt industry!

If all the spools unwrap in the same direction one may rub against its neighbor and cause it to unwrap and result in a bird's nest inside the box. Alternate the direction of the spools and, when you yank a length of the one you want, if it contacts its neighbors it will cause them to rewind rather than unwind.

Omigosh, that's brilliant. And just in the nick of time... all the stores have a good stock of pencil boxes for the new school year.
