They're not supposed to but a very good source informed me that the supervisors get first dibs on everything in some areas. Rarely is there any fabric in the stores here. Mostly just bed linen and such.

How fun! I need to go and look once in a while too. I just love hearing of a good bargain. Enjoy your new fabric!

It is a rare find here where I live as well. But I have found over the last few years some goodies. I love it too when a great bargain is found.

I'm happy for your great shopping day. I've never had much luck finding fabric in thrift stores, but I'm happy for you.

That's fantastic. I'm one of those who rarely finds good deals in fabric or quilting things in thrift stores so I know it has to be so exciting. Enjoy!

Congratulations on your find!

My local thrift stores seldom have fabric. One that did have some is located right next to a JoAnn's and they always sold it out as fast as it came in. And they priced it high because they knew they had a lot of lookers. However the JoAnn's closed in April. I haven't been there since the closing and should make a point to go in case they have lowered their prices on what they may have.

When I do find fabric at the thrift stores, its often hung up with the sheets and such.
I bought 5 yards of a kiddy fabric for $3! I make lots of charity quilts, so good, cheap fabric is awesome.
