Your quilt is beautiful. I can relate to what you are saying about making bright quilts as I make bright ones too and have been trying to do a soft one but they keep coming out bright. Some of the viewers suggested putting a sashing and border of accent colors I think that is what I would do but I have to say again your quilt is nice the way it is. After you decide post a picture, I am sure we are all wondering what your final decision will be. Happy quilting!

I like it, once you add borders it will look even better to you, as you are used to bright colors. I think it's lovely.

Well, you knew what you wanted and you designed it perfectly - the colors blend, but don't stand out, and it IS nice and soft. It's very pretty !

Congrats on a lovely quilt that made you step outside of your comfort zone. Every once in awhile we all need some 'quiet time'. May in Jersey

This is exactly what I was thinking as I studied your quilt. I love your quilt & your color choices. I don't see it as too soft. You gave me an idea for a pattern for a Christmas gift quilt for a friend.
I've discovered a narrow dark border really frames a pc. so I use one all the time.

I think it's beautiful. Diffused, subtle, yet colorful. Very soothing and lovely. I say sew it!

so...the ladies in your guild are the quilt police now? this quilt comes off as a two-color quilt to me - purple and white. yes, it is soft. yes, it looks wonderful. i love the block and how the quilt will look when the blocks are sewn together. be proud of your work.

I have always been an "in-your-face" colors quilter. Seeing yours, and the other posted on this thread I am going to rethink the next quilt I do and try for "calmer".

There are actually patterns and books for 'blended' quilts ... where the colors tend to blend together rather than contrast. I think your color choices are lovely and will make a fine quilt!
