My son uses the plastic bags that the newspapers arrive in for his trash containers.

I just helped my great niece make one for her daddy We embroidered his football team logo on the fabric first. He is the only kid on the block with anything so nice. He is a neatnik and loves it.

I have been looking to make a trash can for my husbands truck also. He wants one that will sit on the floor not hang. Thought of putting a rice bag in the bottom but can't figure out how the thing will stand up. I have scoured the internet and they all hang.
I used my old thread catcher for my van. The rice pocket keeps it in the cubby and is just the right length. I put in a small plastic bag so the fabric never gets soiled.

Ohhh... I reallly like that idea Nana2sew!! THANKS!

I would make a fabric MUZZLE for my one friend's husband to be worn in the car as he is the world's WORST backseat driver. He might not appreciate it...but SHE WOULD!....lol

Hey Dande413, maybe try using corset stays sewn into the sides to get it to stand up.

quilterj, I made trash bags for the cars of my quilting buddies last year for Christmas and they often refer to how much they use them and how glad they are I made them. And my husband wanted one for him too. So go for it as I'm sure it will be appreciated.

Thank-you so much for the link this is perfect for our vehicles as husband would never tolerate something around the gear shift and we're both pretty fussy about the bits and pieces that seem to always find their way into the drink holders.

Thank you quilterj for starting this thread!
