Default In trouble. Need ideas to help use these up! 2.5" strips

I've been cutting up some scraps.

These are each 120 liters (approx. 30 gallons) trash bags. They are full of either 2.5" strips or subcut into 2.5" blocks already.

I realize than any jelly roll patterns would work, but do you have any fantastic ideas for using these up?

I just saw a "Beach Ball quilt" that someone posted here. I'll put that on my list. I can pull coordinated or contrasting strips from these bags. I have plenty of white or off white to use.

Any pictures or names of quilt patterns that use primarily 2.5" strips or squares would be appreciated.

That is what I was going to do with all the scraps I made last week. I made 36 pair of pajama pants and am now ready to clean up all the scraps. After I get all the scraps cut into strips I want to make floor pillows and strip quilts

Give making strips on the diagional a try. They really look good & are fast. I was in a swap & have made many more. They are just such a 'no brainer', then cut to desired size. I even added a black strip to opposite ends, that make a diamond when 4 are put together..Quilting Forum has a rectangle swap going on. Just google 'string quilts' for ideas… Good luck!

Wow, that's a lot of scraps.. I can't imagine ironing these little treasures to sew them up. These scraps will make many quilt tops. Have fun !

You could always get a neutral and make 6 1/2" scrappy nine patch blocks. It's amazing how many great quilts start out with small nine patch blocks. You also need to get a few of your quilt buddies together and issue a challenge to make a quilt using these blocks. Everyone could make one for themselves and your little group could make one to share with someone in your community. It would be a win for everyone. Scraps wouldn't be wasted, lots of warm hugs would be created and you'd have a lot of laughs and share some wisdom along with fabric and quilting ideas.

Sew many possibilities! In addition to googling jelly roll quilts, google Strip Therapy quilts for loads of inspiration.
http://www.google.com/search?q=strip...&start=20&sa=N

You can also use Kaffe Fasset's favorite technique of sewing strips together to make striped fabrics and then cut your pieces from your newly made stripe fabric.
http://www.google.com/search?q=kaffe...62.LDW9gFV0Yaw

Then there are Log cabins, Square in square, wonky squares and rail fence. Feeling ambitious? Choose light medium dark and cut diamonds out of the strips and make a tumbling block or seven sisters quilt.
