Two great finds yesterday
My mother had a Martha Washington cabinet that I inherited when she passed away... unfortunately it went through a flood in about 1998 and couldn't be saved. I've looked for a reasonably priced one for years. Yesterday I was able to purchase one for only $60, but it does need to be refinished. Someone along the line tried to do it and there are actually three different shades of stain on it. I could chalk paint it antique white or black, but actually prefer the wood tone. At, any rate I'm doing my happy dance.
Stopped in at Salvation Army to browse and found 6 yards of a green with a peach/pink rose on it with a brand name of Fabric Traditions for only $4.98 for the whole thing. Yes!! Backing for a quilt I want to make.
I never find bargains like this...it must have been my day to happy dance.
Today I'll go back and have a re-look at a picture frame for the cross stitch sampler I finished during the night ( I'm a non sleeper). Maybe it will be another lucky day.

OH my word, i am in love with that cabinet. It is outstanding!! What a find. I miss my antique furniture pieces but i had them for over 30 years, it was time for others to enjoy them. Hoping they all found good homes.
