Two in a row, too much?

I made all the blocks 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 but when it came to making the angle blocks it seemed to be too small to fit. So I went and made them 3 7/8 x 3 7/8 and when I did the 1/4 inch seam they were also too small to fit in the 3 1/2 blocks. so I ripped the 1/4 seem and made them smaller which seemed to fit very well. What size should I have made them to fit correctly with 1/4 inch seems. And will it hurt my quilt if the seams are smaller.

they are both beautiful, it would depend on where i was going to use it.
i agree about needing variety between projects. i want colors and patterns to be varied. i think i pay better attention that way and enjoy the journey.

They are both very nice. I'm with you, though. I keep a pattern after I make the item. But, I've never gone back. Life's too short - I want to try something else. You did very well on both.

I LOVE the first one! On your other question, I'm a hand piercer/hand quilter so I like to have 2 projects going at the same time. Sometimes I feel like piecing and other times I want to quilt. It's nice to have a choice.

I think I like the first one better, but they're both gorgeous! Great job! And yes, I tend to get bored just doing the same thing over and over. It helps to have several things going at once, so you can change from one to another when you get tired of one.
