Isn't that wonderful!

My grandmother had a quilt with these butterflies - maybe she used the same pattern.

I like your idea of making the sashing narrower, too.

And your grandmother's machine - how LOVELY!!! I will hope that it's gorgeous and completely functional and much better than you expect!
