    U.F.O. surprise

I was up on my step stool to get a batt down for a lap quilt when I spied a box on the bottom of the batt pile. Hmmmm, what could that be? I opened the box and had a good laugh. Here is my sample from a colour exercise from at least 10 years ago! I think I will add a row of tulips in sme of the same star colours to the top and bottom to make it into a lap size quilt top. What do you think, tulips or different stars?Name: image.jpeg

If it were me I would add different stars, but it is your quilt.

Think stars would be a lovely way to enlarge it. Such perfect points...I'm in awe!

Guess I am outside the box, but I think tulips would be gorgeous!

I like the idea of tulips but just can't visualize them with the stars. That's going to be a beautiful lap quilt. I love stars & love black in quilts and love bright colors. This quilt would be perfect for me! Need my address?

if the tulips will be made like the stars, they will look good in the quilt.

I don't see the connection with tulips so I vote for stars.

I like the star idea also - isn't it amazing what we find hidden away!

I'm sort of liking the idea of tulips with this but perhaps make a couple of those blocks (orphan blocks, perhaps, here we come) and place them next to the quilt to see how it strikes you.

Great quilt. I would go for stars. I hate to think of what I might find if I look in the top of my sewing room closet. You are brave. Happy Sewing.

Can you show us the tulips? It's hard to imagine them with out seeing them, but I think either stars or tulips would look great.

That's beautiful, Jan! I would go with stars, unless you're using points on the tulips. But what do I know? Whatever you choose, it will be a gorgeous quilt!

Your top is just beautiful! I'm so glad you found it. I also vote for more stars. I'm having a hard time visualizing the tulips with the stars.

beautiful find. I vote for more stars even if they are of different style and size and all around as for a border!
