    Default UFO's 2013

In 2013 the local quilt shop had a contest to see how many UFO's we could complete. We paid $1.00 (sometimes $2.00) for each item we finished. At the end of the year the shop matched the dollar amount in the form of store credit. I "earned" $143.00!! I earned a prize for the oldest UFO (1971-a baby quilt for my daughter who now has a 16 year old daughter). Also earned a prize for completing over 50 projects. Pictures were taken of each project so we watched a unique slide show with all of our projects. The shop is going to have the contest again for 2014. I probably won't get nearly as many projects completed as all the easy ones are done!! But I'm going to give it a try anyway -- my 2014 list now contains just over 50 projects-- these are all items that have actually been started, and does not include any projects that I have collected fabric for or any of the kits I have.

I need to suggest this to my favorite quilting store! but they might think that if we finished ufo's that would mean we wouldn't be tempted to buy new fabric? Just wondering what they would think. I could suggest this contest and see what they say?

DonnaPB, I think some may need new fabric to finish UFOs. I've often wait until I have a top done before I buy the backing. Our LQS gives you 20% off fabric for backing if you bring your top in.

I was at the same party as you! I saw you raise your hand for the oldest UFO. I didn't complete as many projects as you did, but my gift certificate was $99 and I am very happy with that! Great job on finishing your UFOs! I'm making my 2014 list as well.
