I have an enbroidered tablecloth that I started almost 30 years ago. I'll get it out every now and then and do some of the cross-stitch on it and then put it away again when I get tired of doing that. I don't know what possessed me to even try this because I don't like to embroider cross-stitch. Maybe some day I'll complete it. It's about half finished!

Well, not on a quilt, but I have a cross-stitch that took me 14 yrs before I finally finished it. It is now framed and hanging in my living room- it is huge, but, if I must say so myself, it's beautiful!

I have several tops that my grandmother made in the late 60's and early 70's. I have started to finish them lately. They were made out of old scrapes of some clothes and any other material she could find. I just started to quilt 2 years ago and am not very good at it yet.

I'm cleaning out a closet and found my son's quilt he "designed" when he was about 6 years old. I made squares with a giant butterfly (a Monarch) that he and his Dad had collected, appliqued a picture of his dog, a big black Dobie, a tennis racquet, (he was good at that) a 22 rifle he hoped to be allowed to shoot some day, several other things that had to be appliqued. It was a lovely thing, designed for a twin bed. Oh, did I say he was 6 years old then?
Now he's 42 years old, and I may finish this for his birthday next May.
