I'm with Silly Susan. I live alone with my Great Dane. He loves putting his head on a pillow, so I throw the quilt up over the pillows hoping I won't have dog hair on my pillows, But he manages to"scooch" the quilt down so he can get to the pillows anyway. No point in making a big fuss over making the bed when it gets "unmade" often during the day.

I put my electric blanket on first then my heavy quilted blanket which acts as a comforter. The two of them keep me nice and warm. The blanket is a king size on a twin size bed, so I lift the mattress onto its side, put the quilted blanket over it and drop the mattress back onto box springs, this holds the blanket in place. I get up in the morning, I flip the two blankets up, most of the time I pick up the pillows and put it under the pillows. Mainly because the whole back side is tucked under the mattress. When I sleep upstairs in my king size bed, I pull everything up, then put my pillow shams on top to look nice. For me. I do only straighten my bed because everything stays in place except for the corner that I turn down to sleep

Hotel style, pillows on top, sham covered pillows on top of those. My grandma always said that if your bed is made and your dishes are done, people won't notice much else

This is how I do it, too. Maybe it's a Texas thing.......lol!

Although I like making decorative pillows, I don't put any on our bed, just the sleeping pillows, with the bedding folded down so the underside of the quilt/comforter shows at the edge, with blanket and sheet layered over.

This is how I do it also - easy peasy!

Lol...that's what I'm thinking! I made the rule several years ago that the last one out makes the bed (I'm never the last one out), so I'm not particular about how it's made, which is fortunate for me.

I put my pillows on top of my quilt and they usually match my quilt. I'm way too lazy to use pillow shams.
