Harrie Powers' quilts are awesome! Wouldn't we love to hear her tell the story behind them??! Incredible that they have remained so well preserved.

Not to go into any great detail...but signs were used then too.
And there are people that say that things that happened there didn't happen too. But my father helped liberate several camps so I know for a fact that it did. Some things we KNOW happened, others we can only speculate on. Just because someone says it didn't happen doesn't mean it didn't, only that they don't know about it. Personally about the URR quilts I don't care one way or the other. If it did happen it's okay with me, if it didn't that's okay too. I'd prefer to think that none of us know with absolute certainty. The people that don't believe that it did are just taking someone else's word for it, same as the people that do believe. It shouldn't matter to anyone else what we each believe. I happen to be Pentecostal, that doesn't mean that anyone else on the board has to be. I'm unwatching this topic.

Miholmes - - - I bet you didn't expect these responses!

We have to agree to disagree and consider the source(s). Don't know about you, but I believe in Santa and he still visits me every Christmas. Make your quilt. I guarantee she will love it.
