I have another question this morning. Is it ok to use one of those universal thread holders to make sure you have enough thread on hand. It doesn't mess up to sewing machine by altering the path of the thread does it.?
Thanks in advance

If you put "universal thread holder" in your browser it will take you to different websites. E-Bay has them also
