When I buy fabric, if any empty boards are laying around, usually still on cutting table from other buyers. I ask for them and they always give me what they have. But I found they come in different sizes also... But I like thoses. But I am also reorganizing my fabric, mostly by color and size. Also by 2" strips. Love getting those useful tips from QB quilters, Thank You.

I don't know about using them for that purpose. Why does everyone think they have to use anything in order to store your fabric? I don't use anything. I fold and stack my fabric vertically. My fabric cabinet looks very neat and tidy. More room for fabric. Good luck with your quest.

i like the boards to store my fabric on, rather than fold and stacking because, then when you want a particular color, you don't have to worry about the whole stack falling. or pick up the whole stack just to pull out one piece. i have mine on metal shelving units, but hung an old sheet in front of each one (down in the basement) so the sun light coming in the windows, doesn't fade the material.
