I am with you guys I have way too much now to use up but going to work on that from now on. I may need some encouragement as time goes on to use what I have hope you will be there for me.

Count me in, I tried this year and did use lots of stash scraps. However since I was doing so well using what I had wouldn't you know it some fabric screamed my name and I gave in with about 10 yards.

Count me in. Besides my own overspending I also inherited my mom's stash. I doubt I will need to buy anything for several years. How will we follow this challenge? I'm newer to this list.

I've already been doing this for the last couple of quilts and for the two Brown Bag Challenges I 'm in on right now. No purchasing of any fabric, until I've used up all I have for backings.

Not sure I'd be good at this...I'd have to have one foot in the fabric diet door and the other foot in the quilt shop door. But I will say I do go to my stash first when planning a project, then fill in fabrics at my LQS.

I am with you too. I don't have the most extensive stash. This week-end I started to look for fabric for an 80 inch long table runner this weekend for a Christmas gift, I found every thing I needed including backing, and batting in my stash. I was impressed with my self for the amount of "pre-purchasing" I had done. Now, I need to begin to work with what I have rather than buy more.
PS. I also started a Farmer's Wife quilt. So again this week-ed, I searched for appropriate coordinating fabrics for the quilt and put them all in a single tote. What do you know.... I think I have everything that I need for that quilt too!
Let's shop at home first and be thankful for the abundance that we have in our own closets, sewing rooms and orhter hiding placings.

I am with you 100% - I did the fm last year and fell off the wagon. But I consciously bought less. I will be selling some fabric again this year. Sign me up - maybe add if we fall off the wagon, we have a "swear jar" penalty. Put $1 a yard into the jar each time we fall off the wagon - and at the end of the year donate to the food pantry, or dog rescue group. What does everyone think???

I'll join you PaperPrincess! I think I can manage this one - just moved my sewing 'collection' into one of our spare bedrooms. Seems with the kids grown and on their own, that room was only being used for storage. Not anymore! Now it has my two sewing machines, quilting rack, material stash, and ironing board. It seems to be just the right size for all of my needs in one room! No more hunting from this room to that room for what I need!
