Even though I just got a new machine with all the bells and whistles, I will never part with my 40+ year old Elna. I also keep a 5yr old small White on hand also. These new machines have so much that can go wrong you sure don't want to not have a backup machine.

I have a pfaff. The store closed before I had a chance to have a lesson so I am very limited and affraid to try too much. One day I will have the money to have lessons somewhere.

 Me too! And I use 60% on my Bernina emb/sewing combo machine. :D
Mine is also a straight stitch machine, so I use 100% of my machine when I sew. If I need something more, I have a really good friend who lets me use her machine for the "fancy" stuff!
