    You could also find Bob Marley images (look for free ones) that you could print to fabric.

    Seems like your question is more about the stability of the image once it is applied to the front of the quilt. Will it just rub off, kind of thing. Could you pick one and make your son a t-shirt? Let him wear it for awhile, launder it, and see how it wears? I would think that would be a good test.
