Default viking interchangeable dual feed foot-two thumbs up!

for Christmas, my husband bought me the new Viking interchangeable dual feed foot. the new foot comes with two interchangeable feet that snap on...one is for straight stitch, and one is open for use of decorative stitching. I never knew you could use your dual feed for all the fancy stitches <g>...you can!there are also two additional feet you can buy...one of which is a stitch in the ditch foot attachment. it has the guide in the front, so as long as the guide is in the ditch, you are good to go. Last night I tried out the stitch in the ditch attachment...i'm really really pleased. I have the "old style" dual feed (which will stay on my older Viking)...but this new one with the interchangeable feet attachments really just thrills me!

They also have a quarter inch attachment, that foot plate has a guide. I have used the open one to do fancy stitches when quilting. Love my Vikings!!
Owners of other brands should be careful and do a bit of research. Some brands of machines will only allow the dual feed (walking foot) to sew a straight seam. You cannot even use the reverse stitch or you will break the foot, so again, check before you experiment!

My older Pfaff with the IDT will allow me to use it with decorative stitches and reverse.

They are great. A bit pricey if you don't get when on sale, but worth every penny!

I have this foot also, with Vikings with sensor foot feature really don't need a walking foot per my Viking store owner. However, I have 2 Vikings with that feature but still use the walking foot and it does make a difference. This foot is expensive but well worth it with the option of the different interchangeable feet.
