While everyone has the right to an opinion about whether or not they would bid on this auction (me included), I don't think it's necessarily right to call her stupid or say she has more money than sense, etc. We don't know her circumstances...could be some little old lady who lives in a rural area, doesn't drive, no shops nearby and this is how she gets her fabric. Maybe she is making charity quilts. We just don't have all the facts m'am. Sorry, JMHO.

Looks like a bidding war to me. Most bids were between 2 people. Lucky seller.

Some people really do get carried away with auctions.

I just got 35 + yards for $10 that I won on ebay. And all of it was cotton except 3 yds.

I recently purchased fabric from a quilter on CL, I got 108 yards of mostly very good quality fabric for $80.00, some of it is actually vintage, I cannot imagine paying that much for any fabric, wow, money is to hard to come by

i went looking on ebay and it seems most people are selling just a yard or few fat quarters or small amounts and then you have to pay postage. i think since this dealer had so much listed that is why they bought it. they could buy it and save a bunch in shipping if they wanted a larger amount and for some reason wasn't able to readily go and shop for it.

Between Craigslist and yard sales I have had several "deals" of $35 - $50 for 60 - 70 yards of good quality fabric - no Wally World (my name for Walmart - lol) stuff. My last one was from a quilter who no longer quilted - all Thimbleberries, Moda, and some gorgeous Batiks.

That being said - Ebay is a world wide market place and what is not a deal to us in the States - may be a steal for someone elsewhere. Hopefully the bidder knew what they were doing and was happy with their purchase!!
