Vintage Quilt Want to Recreate
I was looking for basket quilts and found this on Ebay -http://www.ebay.com/itm/Antique-PIEC...item2ec872c0bf
I want to make this pattern as I like the setting, but need help to figure out how to do the sashing between blocks.
Thank you

Streak of Lightning Quilt Setting
I posted a picture earlier of an antique quilt. I was wondering about the setting. I discovered that it is called Streak of Lightning and was wondering where I might find directions on how to do that. Didn't find much on the internet.

I agree with soccertxi, the blocks are not 'on point' but made with 4 trangles on each side, like the block in a block pattern.
Here's an example of a 'streak of lightning' setting

Edyta Sitar (I'm a big fan of her patterns ) has some patterns in this setting, like this one http://laundrybasketquilts.com/Shop/Images/lbasketL.jpg

There's more than one way to skin a cat. In this case I think there are at least 3.
(1) You can look at the streak of lightning sashing as a row quilt, done in columns, with setting triangles placed between the on-point blocks. I think that's the way this quilt was made - https://susandaguequilts.wordpress.c...ear-new-quilt/ ;
(2) You can put corner triangles around each block, so it looks like it is set on point; or
(3) You can sew a sashing onto the top and bottom of each block, each sashing half as tall as the block, then put the blocks together. I've tried to show this in an EQ drawing, but EQ is not cooperating so they are not laying flush with each other. However I think you can get the idea.
If you want all the sashing of the same fabric, I would definitely use option 3. It's much easier than dealing with angles.
