Air Castle is a great block. I have it in one of my books.
I'm in thanks for hosting.
I'll be happy if I ge a tropical coral reef panel community quilt quilted. I'm doing the water fill pattern fmq'ing and it's giving me some trouble trying to go all the way across the panel on my domestic machine.

I couldn't join in yesterday because we got new carpet installed in both the children's room and the living room, so that was an all day project! But for today and tomorrow I'm going to be working on the next clue for the Misty Meadow mystery quilt. Thanks for hosting another VQW!

Yesterday DH didn't need my help, so I got several hours of sewing in (I work half days on Friday, and also telework so don't have a 75mn drive. I just log off the computer down stairs, and walk upstairs to the sewing room).
I got the one set of blocks complete. This quilt should be about 60" x 60".
What I started with -
And the blocks. I used ombre fabric, and the lightest shade of each is on top.
Today I'm working on getting these put together for the 9 patch block. I've already got most of them sewed in pairs, then to sew on the third and I'll have the rows ready to sew together. Goes much faster at this point!
And I really need to get out to the Shed and work on these. Both will be done with black thread and the backing I had was big enough to do them this way.
I'd kind of like to do something custom, but I also want to get them done quickly, so I may go for an allover meander. I think it will look nice either way, and I have over 10 floppies waiting so fast beats fancy at this point.

Gail, any one of those colors would work I think. Or how about adding a border of the background color, then one of the darker colors. You could do an outer border of half square triangles in the various colors to add more variety. Your quilt looks lovely.
