    I ended up cutting 24 of the 4.5 x 1.5 and 72 of the 1.5 x 2.5.

Thank you for the corrections to the cutting, hard to believe my degrees are in mathematics huh

Dede, i might add the sashing of the solid inbetween the blocks on yours, since yours is going to be a dog bed anyhow, the size isnt a big deal, but you are right the two plaids up against each other literally hurts my eyes. If I were doing it, I would add the sashing to give my eyes a rest. Plus side for me is that we can all see one with sashing,

Just finishing up step 6... heating up the iron to press seams to "nest", probably will call it a day after this step. Will see how hungry DH is

Dede: Think your right about the additional sashing. Would calm the plaids and give a path for the eye to follow. That being said, the plaids change this pattern completely, what a great dog blanket.
Lynda Rae: The blue centers really work. They change the focal point completely.
Carolyn: Sorry to hear your feeling bad. Your efforts have provided such a fun way to spend a Sat. Thank you so much! Feel better soon.

Good a.m.: I have one row of blocks sewn together. Will finish the "top" then try my hand at the quilting. Once it's done will take a pic. Mine's called "Spotted Creamsickles". The rate I'm going, may not finish until tomorrow!
