I got my squares all set for my Dragon Hoard top. I was going to put on a narrow side border but am reconsidering that, may go as is. Since I already cut strips, I'm likely to go ahead and put them on, then it will be a stay stitch around the outside edges and I have achieved my main goal for the retreat! So should be able to post a pix tomorrow.
I also have a couple bindings to make, one for this Dragon Hoard project, and another for the previous project. I have some other things to keep busy with.
Right now the hubby is still asleep and the dogs with him. I'm baking a quiche lorraine to take to potluck breakfast and am ready to sew.

A port hole frame for my Ocean CS is an excellent suggestion!
I spent the afternoon searching for the perfect shades of batik for my next pixel quilt. New method. I taped each skein of DMC floss to a cardboard to match the colors needed. 18 colors. I ordered from https://www.batiksplusmore.com/ because she always labels each piece so that I can easily match the fabric to my pattern list when it arrives! It is a blue marlin! I also found a new, free cross stitch creator. I posted in Resources.

Reporting a successful outing with quilty friend.I broke the fabric moratorium but not too badly. The drive home was a killer.
Today will be the day I get the fleece Thing done, it's halfway pin basted already. Plan is to stitch all the way around, then turn inside out and anchor with quilting of some sort. (sigh)

Working on my binding for the small iron caddy by Sister's Common Thread. Made a few "clamshell" bags as gifts and working on finishing the last one up. Then I hope to cut the top for a project Linus Quilt.

Home again home again, jiggity jig! Just got back from the mini quilt retreat.
I got the Dragon Hoard put together, made the binding for it and the previous quilt, and had a little bit of a busy work project for "if I had time". Got the first two done, and made some progress on the busy work.
One of the gals in my sewing group had a plan to hit all 69 stores on the Illinois Shop hop. I "only" did a couple of days and maybe 16 stores with them. At the first store on the first day, I found a dragon fabric panel. I'm not one usually for panels but I just fell in love. By the end of the day, I knew what I wanted to do with it. I used that Dragon concept to help narrow my shop hop shopping.
I'm pretty pleased with how my mental vision merges with the reality version! I used the Karla Alexander technique for quick crazy quilt blocks. There are dies and templates for such things, but I wanted (a) smaller pieces than usual and (b) more variety of shapes. I learned a lot on how to achieve that. I learned some about working with panels (don't trust them to be square!) and I used up a whole bunch of gold embellished fabric from my stash. Plus pretty much all of the specific fat quarters I bought for the project. I pushed my sense of color a bit to use both orange and red,
Now -- to get jiggity with the Bonnie Hunter project and making my fabric decisions.

I am so sorry for your loss.
Well, today I have no sewing in mind as I have to travel to tell my brother in a nursing home that our mother passed away yesterday. On Saturday I'll get back to working on my French Braid as I'm being held up on the next quilt on the frame until my sister tells me which thread colors she wants me to use on it. The French Braid is going to take some time as I have to figure things out as I go. I just realized I'll have to remove the side sashings down about 6 inches, add an extension so that I can miter them with the top and bottom sashings. Slow going but will be so worth it as this will be my quilt for my full size bed. I want it to reach the floor on the sides.

I feel your pain, it's difficult to set up a new sewing room!
You all inspire me! I moved homes this past August and am still finding my way. I set up a sewing area in the basement and bought shelving that doesn't work. Now I have to reconfigure the area. I think I'll try to move one set of shelves out and set up a sturdier shelving unit if I can figure out how to. In moving, I found some 'quilts of valour' blocks (21" square) that I did and think I can finish at least one quilt top this weekend. I will try to.
I've never attempted a Bonnie Hunter mystery, but love the finished projects. Pixel quilts as well (the latest one I saw was Tula Pink by the British sewist, Adam) and I've only done french braids on table runners. I guess the idea is that we report back here with our progress.

Our guild has agreed to make 6” pillows for the Hospice to add to their baskets that they present to their new residents and families. This afternoon I stitched up the ones I had cut a few days ago….now to wait until the guild lady can get me the stuffing.

Glad you found the flour you needed

Not a stitch today. So much for my sewing plans.
I spent most of the afternoon hunting for barley flour to use for a class with elementary age children at church. I will be making the common bread of the everyday folk in the first century, specifically in in Jesus' life time. Finely, seven shops later I found barley flour in my brother's pantry!! He is a foodie and grinds his own specialty flours. Why didn't I think of that at 11:30 this morning rather than late afternoon. Oh, duh!
Tomorrow will be another day!
