Good luck everyone who is finishing things up for Christmas. I have borders to put on a couple of quilts but that can wait until next week.

I have to finish my Christmas cards. They are usually out by now but we have been waiting for a couple of events. My older son and his wife bought their first house last week and yesterday my younger son and his wife had their first child. Little Alice came into the world yesterday so now I can send out cards with her info included.

Have fun everyone. I will check in over the weekend and next week for Merry Mays New Year Mystery quilt

So far so good for the weekend. Now I have a question. Do you think I should stitch a diagonal line for the corners where the piano keys meet or just have the keys meet .

Grannie, I don't see any piano keys in the picture, so I'm not sure how to answer. I love the quilting on this piece though, it's beautiful!

I'm in this weekend. Just finished a quilt for youngest grandson. Bought a misto olive oil sprayer for elmers glue basting. It works really well. I had used a spray bottle for glueing but it didn't work as well as the misto. I bought it at Target for $9.98.

Finished the quilting, first project on this machine and it was a breeze. Just in the ditch around the sashing and then diagonal lines. Added in some curves in the squares. If I was to do this again (or for someone I know) I'd make obvious spider webs with a quilted spider in one of the sashing corner stones and go full Charlotte's Web instead of just Pig Pen -- but people can be weird about spiders and this is a donation project. The fabric on the back is a slightly more realistic farm pig print.

I have enough pink for the binding, but I think it wants white which I will have to buy because I don't have enough plain white nor enough of the white on white I used on this project. I think I should make a bunch of plain white binding just to have on hand. Also need to get some more Kona Black to keep on hand, guess I'll check the sites to see if there are any sales.

Grannies G, I don't see a piano border?

Well, the ladies and I had a fabulous time quilting today as we always do. We generally quilt together the first Saturday each month but decided we needed an extra day this month. So we'll be back working together in two weeks. We've decided to work on Yellow Brick Road (most of us anyway!). I worked on a a stitch n fold candle mat today along with some blocks for Crossroads. The machine didn't like the flying geese for that one so I didn't work on it very long. Guess I'll head upstairs and see about maybe cleaning up a little

[QUOTE=SillySusan;8179459]
So, until the 23rd I'll be doing the hand binding on the 5 remaining baby quilts for donation. If there isn't a VQW on New Year, I'll have my own private one.

I glad to join in on January 1 also
