Default Virtual quilting weekend 5/14-5/16/21

Welcome to virtual quilting weekend. I have quilt tops that need to be quilted and bound so that’s my project for the weekend. Our guild is having a virtual sew in tomorrow and I have wool appliqué to work on for that.

next month VQW will be June 18-20.

what is everyone else working on this weekend?

Good morning everyone, I’m in this weekend. I too need to quilt a few tops and hand sew binding on a few quilts.

Then I’m trying to catch up on the Laundry Basket quilt mystery quilt project. We are on day 5 of a 12 day mystery. The blocks are 4.5’ and the blocks lay out 15 blocks by 15 blocks for a 60’ by 60’ top. I will probably add another border.

that’s all my projects for this weekend. Happy quilting and sewing everyone.

I am in too. I have 2 quilts to do the quilting and binding on. One of my machines and I are not on speaking terms at the moment. I need to take time to have it serviced. Maybe next week. For now it is sew, sew, sew

I have recently completed, along with labels, two quilts - a baby quilt and t-shirt quilt for Grandson's graduation. So now I am straightening up the sewing room, and pulling small pieces of fabric to use for a large hexagon quilt. Not a large quilt but large hexagons to use. The hexagon template measures 5 1/2 inches and I am just using up some of the smaller pieces I have laying around. Should be interesting.

Thanks for hosting again Heather! I am on the final stretch of a quilt for a Christmas so between doing yard work, I am hoping to get at least all the blocks sewn and sashed. I can’t wait to see what everyone is working on.

Good morning. Thanks for hosting and count me in. I have a top that needs to have its piano key border attached. That's probably all I'll get to this time.

Thanks for hosting and getting us focused on cleaning up some projects either old or making progress on what is new.

My plan is.......
1. Finish the rainbow quilt just need to add two more rows!
2. Make at least 2 of the Harriet's Journey quilt blocks.
3. Search out pieces for donation - The organization is asking for 2.5 strips and 2 yard cuts for backing for quilts. Think I can cover some of that request.
4. While rooting about in my stash, I need to look for backs for at least 4 of my many UFO's . My quilting group will is having a retreat, small group of 12 rather than 35-40. I requested tables or a work station where we can sandwich quilts. The group raised a cheer for that. We all have quilts ready for sandwiching! It is a few weeks out, but I would like to get what is needed ready to go!

Enough for one week-end and more.

I have quilted this in one direction. I am so tired of this quilt. Do you think it is good enough to leave as is. Or should I suck up and quilt in the other direction too?
