I got some things put away, vacuumed the floor and started my quilting project. I am binding the very first quilt that I started 10 years ago. I'm about half way through it. It's just a baby quilt, from the days when I was still hopeful that I'd someday be a, "Gramma." Alas, no grandbabies yet. It's not very babyish, so it will be a blanket for my cat, "Bondo." He'll love it and he certainly won't care about all of my mistakes made on this first attempt at quilting. Thanks for helping me get in gear!
Great projects everyone! Love all the pix! Sorry, I can't take pix right now. I'll try to later.

Finished all the squares for a blue quilt making for my sister. Layout will be the problem since it like a log cabin with one side light and the other dark. Too many choices. Worked my blue, green beige quilt. Just a few more sections before I can start sewing the top together.

Christmas in July! I’ve made several presents but have more to make. That may be what I work on over Labor Day weekend. In between some housework I worked on wool appliqué today. Tomorrow I hope to get the wings on the ladybugs.

Thank you everyone for your posts, it is really inspiring.
I so miss my Crib playing ladies, but we haven't figured out a way to play where everyone could have their own set of cards...maybe we can get it figured out before all this Covid year is behind us.
I am doing a few more FMQ samples from the Lori Kennedy class but am struggling with the fabric/thread combo at the moment.....just can't seem to get my tension correctly..... oh well.....back I go for another try before dinner! Love everyone's pictures too, thanks!

This is Cheryl's contribution to the weekend festivities. "Green With Envy" is pieced! We have to order some Hobbs cotton batting (queen size, the quilt is 86x86 hence the necessity of draping it over the couch), and schedule an appointment with the longarm quilter, which likely won't happen for a week or so, but now it's on to the next project. She did a bang-up job on the top, although one tiny flaw did rear it's head. In the bottom right hand corner where the churn dash block meets the green block, it doesn't meet the corner and has a gap of about 1/4 inch. The remaining three corners are near perfect, but she wonders if maybe the corner triangle might have stretched a bit, because there was almost a 3/8 inch gap before she ripped it apart and worked to fix it. All in all, she did a great job!

Finally decided to organize my jelly rolls. I took them all apart and organized by color using my ironing board. Now the plastic container has all the jellies organized by color. Took a couple hour but had an old tv crime show to entertain me. Remember Cagney and Lacey?
Tomorrow hope to pin baste at least one baby quilt. Job that I really hate.
Oh and made two mug rugs for DH.

Tying is done! Took me roughly eight hours total, two from yesterday and then six from today. Don't think that's too bad of a pace. Actually it's more like seven, I did stop for an hour to get something to eat and just rest my hands and arms.
Decided to try and take care of the seams as well so I could just call the entire quilt finished and I could spend the day tomorrow working on my hexies, but the quilt had other plans, I guess. Took me a while to figure out the tension needed and when I finally got done with that and buzzed my first seam, I had bird's nests under it. Then I remembered that I didn't take the needle out and replace it with the right size and used the wrong thread. Teaches me to try and tackle everything in one day, I should have just stuck to my original plan of tying today, doing seams tomorrow. But, it was a lesson learned, so not complaining about it at all.

I'm joining this late, but I've been busy sewing! My friend K & I sandwiched & pin pasted my butterfly quilt yesterday. It's completely from stash, including the batt & backing. Today we worked on the flannel back for top #10 from her daughter's UFO pile. She & her husband have plans for tomorrow so I'll be sewing at home, on my new Baby Lock Jazz II! I'll practice FMQ on small pieces before I start on my butterflies. A Labor Day VQW will be great.

Wow, everyone seems to be so productive this weekend!
I finished burying my thread ends on my Hunter’s Star and marked a few more lines that I’m going to quilt. I am only quilting straight lines so I did the vertical lines, some of the diagonal lines that had a ditch for me to follow and the borders. That allowed me to trim the excess batting and backing before I put the quilt back under the needle. It should be much easier to maneuver now.
