Virtual Quilting Weekend -- June 30 - July 4, 2017
#11
I have another red, black and white quilt ready to sandwich and quilt. This is fabrics I had left after making close to a queen quilt for our bed. This will be the 4th with these colors to donate to kids in our county that must be removed from their homes. I have already made nine. Then I will start a pinwheel quilt with those colors. I am determined to use up the black and white fabrics. I am retired since the 1st of this year. I sew 6 days a week for 4-5 hours.

This will be my first VQW, and I'm hoping to finish 2 throw pillow covers, then organize for and hopefully start cutting for a king quilt for our bed, which I've literally taken years to decide on a pattern for.

Yay! Another VQW.... I'll definitely be sewing, so I'll try and take some pics and stay in touch. I have two charity quilt sandwiches to machine quilt. Right now I'm cutting squares for I Spy quilts. I make kits and sell them. My elbow is worn out from cranking the Go cutter and pushing down on the rotary cutter.
Zozee, I'm very sorry for your loss! Hope your dad is holding up well.

Great idea! This will be my first VQW. I have a few UFOs I am hoping to finish. Three lap size quilts needing to sandwich and quilt. Also, three donation quilts to quilt and bind. I would also love to dig out my first Bonnie Hunter Mystery Quilt and work on that. (I started the MQ Nov 2015 - so many tiny pieces.... fisrt attempt with scrappy quilt pattern). So, as you can see, I have a full long weekend ahead of me. . VQW = great motivation. I'll try and post pictures along the way. (Something else I will need to learn). Happy 4th of July everyone!!

This might be just the push I need to get a quilt finished for an upcoming wedding in August. I've been dragging my feet on it as I just. don't. like. it. I'm also working on a shoulder bag for a friend's daughter, and cutting out a quilt to take with me on our holidays next week.

I woke up early this morning and I am too embarrassed to say how early I woke to get started.
Zozee, sorry for you loss, your MOM. It's like your friends and family are saying to you be easy on yourself.
Jingle, loving that retirement, continue to enjoy it.
I'll try to show pix of what I want to work on today.

I won't be able to take part this weekend as we are going camping and seeing friends we have not seen since last Sept. When I get home I will jump right back into my sewing--not taking any this time, just books!
