Visit to Joann's

Last year the shops sold calendars; each month had a special coupon and the 100 dollar coupon is still good until 12/31. Thanks for the reminder! :-) As a side note, I don't think they sold those this year. :-(

I have never seen a JoAnns calendar. I get so frustrated there as to what the coupons will work on and what they won't I often get to the register with stuff that I thought the coupon would work on and it doesn't. I am surprised it worked on clearance things. Good for you.

Glad you got some good deals. i don't buy much there any more, never without a coupon. But I've started wondering about the pricing/coupon system. Early this week I went in for rotary blades, cookie tins and some of those big decorated storage boxes they always have. There were single blades on the rack, but no 5-packs - which is what I wanted to get with a 50% off coupon. At checkout, the clerk asked if I'd found everything I needed and I mentioned the blades. She said they are now behind the counter. Although it's too bad that they have to do that now, I completely understand. It would have been nice if there had been a sign saying that on the rack... They did have some, so I used my coupon and got a 5-pack, normally $39.99, for $20.
Anyhow, when I got home I was shopping on Amazon and decided to check the prices there. Same Olfa blades, a 5-pack is $14.99, or I could order a 10-pack for $30. So they cost less, no extra stops when I'm already busy, no lines... Guess where I'll be getting mine from now on? Why don't they just make their prices reasonable and do away with the onslaught of coupons?

Great shopping, Buddymom....

It takes a lot of effort to effectively use coupons and not buy more than you need or want just to use the coupon. I do compare discounted prices with online sources to be sure I get the best price on what I want. I use a lot of Hobby Lobby coupons. I only recently (last week) signed up for JoAnn's because I want sports team fabric. But, the JoAnn's store in Colorado Springs is very far from where I live. They have closed the one that was closer. So, I am not sure it is worth the effort. I might try an online order.

I love to but Christmas fabric and they had it 60% off as well as the calico's 60% so was a great deal, to spend 130.00 and save 320.00 was amazing to me on my budget. I hate that different stores use different rules.
