I have been purchasing a heavy weight Pelon fleece when making purses instead of the iron-on fleece because of the difference in cost. I use a spray adhesive on the fleece to hold it in place. Then I do some kind of macnine quilting to hold everything together. Chances are, a purse will not be washed so I am wondering what those of you who make purses do about machine quilting when using either the iron-on or regular fleece. Thanks for your help.

I use a cheap steam a seam type double sided adhesive and use pieces of batting instead of the pellon. Lasts just as long and I do wash my purses, probably not as much as I should because they get really grungy....

I use the fusable fleece because I like it and I do wash my purses if they need it. I also tell people I give them to that they can be washed.

I have used fusible fleece, craft fleece and warm & natural batting in purses. They all wash up nicely.

I use the fusible fleece because I got an incredible deal for the entire bolt. I also like how it washes up.

I use the fusible and don't always quilt it. I hand wash/ air dry my bags very occasionally and no problems yet.

I have used everything from left over batting, lightweight pellon, Decor Bond and whatever I have on hand. I have really good success with the outer portion of the bag in just batting and close cross hatching quilting. Then I do the lining of the bag with the pellon in either the fusible fleece or the Decor bond. Since the Decor bond is pretty stiff, I usually use a piece of batting on the fabric first and then fuse the Decor bond to the batting. The stiffer lining makes the bag seem a little sturdier. ` I like the quilted look of the bags, so just using a little basting spray on the batting works great to hold it while I quilt.
I also have not washed a bag yet...But now that you mention it mine probably needs it...!!

I use fusible fleece because I also wash my purses. I buy it when JoAnn's or Hancock's has it for 50% off.
