This has been interesting reading! My DH doesn't tell me how to sew or how to organize a sewing room (I don't really have one.) He is supportive of my projects, and I love the man dearly!

Why on earth would he want to deliberatly RUIN your joy in having your own space to sew after all these years of "making do"?

The first 50 years, you made do.....the next 50 are up to you.

Just tell him what you want and go out and do it and if he butts in tell him to butt out period.

Asked him how many times does he want to do this? If he does it your way, then it is only once.

Ask him if he is willing to "redo" it if it is not comfortable or practical for you when finished. If he isn't, tell him you will have to get someone else in to fix it.

conniemaried, you have probably finished your room by now. How did it come out?
