being kinda new to this - want to make the potato bags - is it better to buy the warm tater or would just warm and natural work? reason i am asking is i can get some gift certificates through work for overstock.com and they have the warm and natural at a decent price. with hubby not working i figure this may be a way to get some batting without spending $$$.

I would buy the special tater batting. That's what I've always used and I've had no problems.

I used W & N in the ones I made & they turned out just fine. I used it for my 4H girls too.
I like to warm up breads in mine.
Just make sure you use 100% cotton thread too. I thought I would serge my first one, wrong. I melted & singed.

I think that Warm and Natural has a very thin poly scrim that may cause problems if over nuked. If you are going to purchase a batting for this particular project I would go with the warm tater product, which doesn't have the poly.

Contrary to the name , warm and natural is not all cotton, get the special batting.

warm & natural (or any other cotton batting) works just fine...you do not want to use a poly blend- it could melt- natural fibers work great for these. :thumbup: no reason to spend the extra for a name on a package

But Warm and Natural has poly in it ! The contents on the package 87.5% cotton, polypropylene 12.5%
