Do you really wash all of the little pieces of the Quilt of the Month blocks before you start sewing them? They are so tiny. Do they not ravel?

I never wash my BOM fabrics either although I do normally wash everything else. I don't wash the finishing kits either although they contain yardage as I want all the fabrics to shrink at the same rate. I guess I've been lucky and have never had anything bleed.

no- i do not pre-wash pre-cuts= they never come out the same size many times wind up being non-usable- it is better to make the quilt- quilt it- bind it then wash it= cold water with color catchers if you think there may be a bleeder- if the quilts pieces have any deep reds i test them for color fastness- if i have a bleeder i try to replace it with something stable before starting. but pre-cut kits are not put together with the belief you will pre-wash it is not recommended.
