I am an AudioBook addict. Can't stand the Telly: we have one very small one in a small room (the TV room). No-one really watches it except for the news. Kids never watch it. Hubby irons in front of it.

Audiobooks are the thing for me. I go through loads. Thank goodness for Audible! Of course, anything can be a distraction...

I watch old moves or old TV shows that I've seen before. If I find myself getting too wrapped up in what I'm watching, I'll save it for later and find something else to watch. I also listen to talk radio.

Yes, I do. It helps keep things interesting. Mostly I listen, stopping occasionally to watch a scene. Call it multitasking.

Well, I am a former elementary/junior high school teacher and I became an expert at multi-tasking with anywhere from 25-35 students in a classroom and knowing exactly what was going on and keep on a teaching. So, I have to have the television on because it is soooooo quiet in my sewing room with both my little Featherweight or the 301 not making any distracting noises at all. The TV just keeps me company!!!

Reruns! Love those NCIS marathons. If a program is on that I have not seen, I do get distracted but then you should hear the machine humming while the commercials are on. DH says that I am the only person who looks forward to the commercials. lol

I have always watched TV while sewing. The only thing that distracts me when I am sewing is idle chatter, especially if I am expected to participate.

I don't have a TV in my sewing room, but I do have a thumpin' stereo in there! Of course, it can make sewing a bit difficult at times when you're a "headbanger" from WAAAAYYYYYY back..... LOL!

Same here - I love my audio books - but I like FREE so I check CDs out of the library.

I am a listener too. I usually listen to reruns. That way I don't get too entranced by what is happening on the screen. But I am one of those people that need the noise around me. And my puppy under my ironing board!
