Wedding ring is a classic you can't go wrong!
as to time it depend on how much time you have to sew/day week?
also do you plan on hand or machine quiting?

I will piece it by machine and can usually spare a couple of hours a day if necessary - quilting is always done by hand as I am rubbish doing it on the machine - think I will have to 'bite the bullet' and go for wedding ring apart from anything else my daughter loves geometric designs

give it a twist and instead of a white or cream background, make it the color of her wedding.

The double wedding ring , has a couple ways to make them that speed up the process
Quiltsmart makes am interfacing that you attach to the back ground fabric rather then piecing everything .

Also Eleanor Burns ( Quilt in a Day) has a pattern in her Egg money Quilt book

I am currently doing one for my cousins wedding. I started with a celtic knot. the one i picked is a heart. So it is Girly. But you could do a true lovers knot as the center.

    hi Janedee,
I have never made a Double Wedding Ring Quilt, but I do have book and it comes with a template that seems like it would make the whole process easier. "Rings That Bind" is the title. You sew strips together and then cut a 1/4 ring with the template. Good luck

I think Eleanor Burn's "Lover's Knot" is wonderful. It's basically a log cabin on point.

I was able to check this out at my local library. I haven't actually made it yet, but I'm sure, especially with her technique, that it would go together quickly.

Thankyou everyone for all the replies - have checked out the tutorial - really makes it look simple - have also ordered the Eleanor Burns book for her Love Knot so will make my decision when I have seen the pattern for that or as suggested might combine the two - will let you know xx
