Your $5 was well spent and Billy (lostn51) can probably give you some hints about dealing with the rust so you don't damage the paint. You will have a wonderful item for you sewing room.

That's the most adorable sewing machine I have ever seen. Guess now you can sew during a power failure, while the rest of us twiddle our thumbs. Just kidding, but it's a thought.

I have a crank sewing machine that I got when I was a child in the 1950's. I think it was purchased at Sears, and I had lots of fun learning to sew on it before I could sew on my Mother's machine. A quilt shop in Temple TX where we moved from has a lot of crank children's machines displayed on high shelves in the shop. I love the Pfaff you bought! It is a really good find.
