Western Shirt Quilt

Subscribe
Okay I have a bit of a quandry. My step dad wants me to put a pink western shirt into a quilt. Not cut up and used but the whole shirt in one piece! I'm not sure where to start so I would welcome any thoughts or ideals you might have.

HELP!

You can applique it down to a, I am assuming, very large block (smile).

There are some threads on QB about putting baby clothes into a quilt. Try searching on baby clothes and look for Pictures threads.

You might want to cut the back out of it and applique it to another piece of fabric. Then use the fabric in the back for other squares around the outside of the shirt. You will probably never match the fabric anyway. Leave the back yoke to cover the neck opening and enought to turn under the sides. You could do the sleeves too, if you needed more fabric. I think it sound like a cute idea. Stitch the front opening shut so it doesn't come open accidentally.

Thanks for all the input ladies - I think I am beginning to form a picture in my mind. Pop is 89 and just has thoughts that sometimes I don't understand and can't achieve, but this one with your help I know I can.
