In cleaning out closets, basement storage areas, etc... I've come across clothes I made for my children when they were little, including some nice corduroy...

Can I use corduroy? maybe with denim? or flannel? What do you know about using corduroy? Are there any considerations (like when using flannel combined with cotton...)?

I have used it to make walker bags, etc for the veterans.
I would use it to make quilts with maybe denim or other heavy fabric,,,, doubt I would put any batting in it tho.. it will be heavy enough as it is.

Corduroy makes a great throw for a man and is very warm. I made one for my step-dad and tied it instead of quilting and he loves it. Used light flannel for the batting.

I have made quite a few denim and corduroy quilts. I alternate one denim one corduroy block till I get the size I want. Have fun, you will enjoy seeing the pieces in your quilt and remember those days when your babies were little.

Corduroy makes a nice, heavy quilt. I hate the mess it makes when cutting and sewing but worth the effort.

Like Bluteddi, I've used corduroy to make various bags, backpacks and clothes, but never quilts. It makes an awesome backpack/grocery bag size bag that really wears well.

I'm glad flannel/tied together works, because corduroy is one of my favorite materials and I'd like to get back into using it again. Thanks for asking the question!
