What is the best flannel at Joann's?
#21
I've found Joann's flannel to be iffy. I have some I purchased that's as good as any I've ever purchased at any quilt shop and I've purchased some that pilled horribly when it was washed. If it's important, you might want to go with another source.

I made pajamas out of flannel I got from Joann's and they barely lasted 2 years. The fabric kept tearing at all the different seams, even though I kept repairing them. I bought a lot of flannel all at once, big sale. I don't want to make any more clothes out of it, far too cheap. I'm going to buy it online like you gals are suggesting. I guess I'll make rag quilts with it for the backing or the batting inside them.

I browse the sale flannel at Hancock's of Paducah whenever I think of it. They will sometimes have flannel that would be suitable for backing regarding colors. And they give you an extra dollar off on some of them if you buy 15 yards or more. Great deal if you are making several throw quilts. I have gotten good quality flannel for about 4.99 a yard....

Years ago I bought organic flannel at Joann's, for $15 a yard! It was the only flannel they had that looked like it would hold up, as the rest looked to be poor quality. I would think Missouri Star or fabric.com would carry better quality, and probably for less than the organic.
